Transmitting data over fiber at distances up to 20 km, this transceiver offers low jitter performance for extended optical link support without degradation in performance. BiDirectional Technology
The DEM-220R combines transmit and receive signals onto one fiber strand using two wavelengths, significantly reducing fiber infrastructure costs. This transceiver uses a 1310nm wavelength to transmit data and 1550nm to receive. Must be used in pairs with the complementary DEM-220T transceiver, which uses the opposite wavelengths (Tx 1550nm/Rx 1310nm).
Hot-Swap Capability
All D-Link transceivers are hot-pluggable, allowing network administrators to connect a transceiver while the system is powered on without causing any issues, and easily swap one for another without having to reboot the switch each time. This permits modules to be added or removed without interrupting the network, facilitating maintenance and greatly reducing downtime.
